Traffic Test Results: Action Marketing News / Dan Snow / MyWizardAds / Theresa Cahill Solo ads are a great way to get a lot of traffic in a short time. The rates are generally very competitive and customer aquisition costs are generally very low. But, a percentage of offers for email solo advertising are just plain scams. Here are the results for an offer we recently tried. We purchased from Theresa Cahill at MyWizardAds who promised to get us a 2 for 1 offer from Action Marketing News who claims a circulation of 80,000 readers. We received confirmation of our order from both Theresa Cahill and Dan Snow of Action Marketing News. We subscribed to the list so we could see what they usually sent. We received nothing until the day of our first scheduled mailing. On that day, we received 4 visitors to the tracking URL we provided. One week later, we received our 2nd mailing. We received zero visitors to the tracking URL we provided. The offer was well tested. Our average CTR with other lists was 16.35%. If Action Marketing News had average results, we should have expected 13,080 visitors to the target URL for each of two mailings. We received 4. The traffic was sent to a special offer for $10 that converted at 1.61% on average with other lists. We would have received 215 sales based on our average with other lists we tested this offer with. That would have been $2,150 in sales. We received zero sales. The cost of the ad was $80 and the ROI was 0%. We obviously do NOT recommend Action Marketing News, Dan Snow, MyWizardAds or Theresa Cahill for solo email advertising. If any of those parties have fixed their problems and would like a retest, we will be happy to do that for a $500 service fee.
